In battlefield bad company(demo) what are those ball / grenade things the sniper has? nothing happens when i throw one except for a white circle on my radar. what i this supposed to do?

It is a motion tracker. Any enemy that moves within that white circle on your radar will show up. Very handy for keeping your flank and sides covered when by yourself.

They are motion tracker grenades. They neither explode nor hurt the enemies. You throw them and a white circle appears on your radar. If an enemy moves whatsoever within that circle, he or she will appear on the radar as a red dot and you can see their dot from wherever. Your allies can see them as well.

this is just a guess, you throw it on a tank and it is a tracking device for the guy with the rocket launcher to shoot and his rocket will follow i think there is a video that explains what every class weapons do so go check youtube.
