What's wrong with bowlling? Are you some sort of anti-bowling hate monger? You probably wish you could just run around the game and do whatever you want, don't you? Well, that's not what GTA IV is all about. It's about hanging which yo brothas, and that means you have to bowl. In fact, the game nothing more than a bowling simulator mascarading around as sandbox free roamer. And look how many copies it sold. HA! Fooled you, America!

Ok, I'm kidding. And I totally get you. It's pretty annoying that your phone is constantly blowing up with people who want you to hang out with them, and when you don't do it, they lose their likeability towards you, which gyps you out of an achievement. It's one of the few things I found wrong with game - punishing the gamer for choosing not to do things that are only cool a couple of times when you first start playing.

it's all open duder. you can always choose what to do in that game, you don't have go bowling unless you want to. and what everyone else said...turn off the phone.

Because you can go where you want. You don't have to go bowling if you don't want to. Don't let those guys pressure you into recreational sports, it can only lead to trouble.
