data transfer cable and a disc it comes with. i bought a 120gb hdd used and it didn't come w/the cable so i had to call MS to get one sent to me free of charge.

When you buy the new one (120GB) it wil come with a kit. In the kit is instructions. It's actually very quick and easy.
